For our March Philanthropy event, the Xi Phi Chapter decided to participate in the Polar Plunge, which is an annual event that takes place in cities all across the country. Essentially, participants raise money for the Special Olympics by plunging into freezing cold water. Being able to participate in the Polar Plunge not only allows the Special Olympics (specifically the Nebraska Special Olympics in our case) to get some outstanding monetary donations, it also allows for some awesome PR and a great opportunity to get the communities across Nebraska involved in knowing and learning more about the Special Olympics. The Xi Phi Chapter had two "plungers," Whitney Nelson and Justin Vogel, who together raised $150 for the event. The Xi Phi Chapter team was one of 11 teams participating in this year's Polar Plunge at Yanney Heritage Park. Check out the pictures and video below!!!
