MORTAR BOARD WEEK Feb. 12-18, 2012

MORTAR BOARD WEEK:  

• Freshmen Recognition Event-- Monday, February 13, 2012 at 8:00pm
• This event recognized freshmen at the top of their class after their first semester of college by congratulating them on their academic performance. 
• The event took place in the Cedar Room of the Nebraskan Student Union.
•  Keynote Speakers: Brad Green and Dr. Oravecz
•  
• Last Lecture Series- Wednesday, February 15, 2012 -Copeland Hall Rm 142-7:00pm

o    Mortar Board hosted and facilitated the campus tradition in which Mortar Board, along with the campus honored a faculty member.  This year’s speaker was Dr. Kenneth Trantham. 

o    Dr. Trantham is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Physics and Physical Science at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. 

•    Title of Dr. Trantham’s lecture: “Liberal Arts Education and the Fourier Series; An Analogy”

• Mortar Board Alumni Social- Thursday,  February 16, 2012- 4:30-6:30pm
• The Chapter organized a meet and greet social with our area Alumni.
• The event was held in order to network and catch up with our Alumni while enjoying wine donated by Mac’s Creek Winery.
• The event was held at the Alumni House.
